R1Soft Backup and Replication Services
VPLS is a proud partner of R1Soft by providing their backup solutions and services. With the value of data increasing as one of the most valuable commodities in the IT industry, R1Soft is striving to make sure customers are being protected from hardware failures. In the age of automation, and putting the machines to work for you, Server Backup Manager by R1Soft is a winning solution. R1Soft is mainly used for Physical Dedicated Servers. It can also be deployed inside a VM as it is agent based and take backups to an R1Soft Backup Server Manager.
Data Protection Features
- R1Soft offers backup for databases and can even restore a current backup while a new backup job is running.
- Site-to-site replication, replicates your backup data across Server Backup Manager (SBM) servers to restore entire SBM servers, archived data, server configurations, and multi-tenant accounts. Similar to disaster recovery as a service for your backup.
- Server-to-server backups offer you a peace of mind by providing an extra backup copy for your original backup.
- Backup verification allows you to have absolute certainty that your backup is running smoothly.
- Avoid the inevitable with hard drives failing by using block-level backups, which allow you to run fast, performance-friendly backups regardless of the number of files you are trying to backup.
Continuous Data Protection (CDP)
- R1Soft Continuous Data Protection is a cost-effective backup application for Windows and Linux computers, developed by R1Soft, which provides user scheduled near continuous disk-based online backups for one or more Windows or Linux servers.
- Supports your Windows and Linux Based servers as well as real-time Support for MySQL.
- Continuous Data Protection is a method of conducting high-performance in any-time intervals with little impact on server or disk performance.
- Automatically saves a copy of every change made to the data, essentially capturing every version of the data that the user saves by looking at the blocks where the data has changed, rather than the whole file. It allows the user or administrator to restore data from any point in time.
- It can restore previously captured disk images to another disk by replicating the structure and contents to a new disk. Individual files inside of a disk image can also be restored to their original location or an alternate computer.
- Has the ability to perform backups as often as every 15 minutes and no performance penalty for servers with large number of files.
Block-Level Backups
- Block-level backups have less performance issues by bypassing the file system and reading the data directly from the disk or volume meaning that you are able to run fast, performance-friendly backups regardless of the number of files you’re trying to backup. It ignores files and does not care how many are on the server.
- Instead of scanning the entire disk in order to locate the correct files to backup, block-level backups read the disk in the order that they actually appear on the disk.
- It also has a built-in support for open file backup and snapshot features, allowing you to get the most out of your storage space and resources and giving it a much more efficient process that prevents the server from becoming overwhelmed.
