Veeam Announces New Features for Future Release v9

Veeam the leader in virtualization backups announced an awesome new feature for EMC customers that will allow Veeam to open up EMC Snapshots and extract files and backup content.

  • The new integration expands the market opportunity for Veeam-powered backup and disaster recovery (BDR) services, by enabling more frequent backups and replicas for customers with stringent RPOs.
  • As with HP and NetApp today, you will soon be able to leverage EMC VNX and VNXe storage snapshots to minimize impact on customer VMs, and back up or replicateup to 20 times faster than with other tools.
  • The new integration with EMC production storage, together with Veeam’s existing integration with EMC Data Domain backup storage, allows you to deliver BDR services for customers looking to standardize on – and fully leverage – EMC technology.

These new features will be available in the next release of Veeam Availability Suite v9 around Fall 2015.
